The only way of bypassing this nice MS idea is to either use Virtual Machine and set up a Windows Vista/Win 7 and install the game there (lots of headaches, i know) or create a dual-boot OS (Windows 10/Windows Vista or Windows 10/Windows 7). So you won't be able to install the game from the disc (thank you, Microsoft, for saving us from all our legally retail purchased games). Microsoft blocked the installation of the old copy protections (SecuROM, Safedisc, TAGES and StarForce) on Windows 10. Which needs to be installed from the disc. Trouble is.the BFME series have as a disc protection SecuROM. Any copy that can be found out there is either old retail stock or second hand copy (and they should not be on sale, due to the problems they have with Windows 10)

Tried an aftermarket mod to fix the startup issues.The moddb start up fixer. (And yes I ensured it was saved as ini and not as a text document) Have created an "options.ini" folder with values under the app roaming as that is a common fix. Tried launching via both the desktop icon and the folder. The game installs no worries however when I go to start it via the desktop it comes up saying there is no disc installed. I have gone to install it on my laptop which is almost brand new running windows 10. I will let you know how it goes as soon as I got it installed myself.I have purchased the disc version of the lord of the rings the battle for middle earth 2 collectors edition (lotrbfme2). 🙂 Please let me know if it works or not. So the game actually runs on Windows 10 with Lisulis fix. Tried launching the game a few minutes a go and tested a skirmish. I tried the solution further down in this post and it worked for me right away. Holy smokes, it has been a long time since I wrote this post, but finally I have an update.
